Watercolors
I didn’t begin my painting career with watercolors. I was so used to working with the texture of oil paint. Watercolors were too watery and lacked control. I was kind of a snob. I can say that now, because it was over 8 years ago and I have since evolved.
In 2013, my husband decided to go back to school for a big career change. We sold our house and all of our stuff and moved from Washington state to begin our lives in California. With two little kids, we moved in with my husband’s parents while he was in school. Needless to say, painting with messy (and often stinky) paints when you are trying to respect someone else’s space is hard. Doing that, while trying to keep your two mischievous toddlers from breaking your in-laws’ knickknacks… is even harder… it was just not going to happen.
I still needed a creative outlet and wanted to keep my art career moving forward. So I turned to Watercolors. They were easy to clean up and easy to take with me places. And surprise, surprise I fell in love them and use them all the time!
